I Am a Camera by John Van Druten was my first academic costume design. For this project, I tried to emphasize the dark, dramatic, and earthy lives the characters experience while adhering to the silhouettes appropriate for the 1930s time period. The fringe on Sally’s flapper dress was added by hand as well as the feathers on her slippers, and this was the first show that I got to experiment with wigging an actor (Sally Bowles’ black bob).
